Flout Labs is a studio in Galway, owned and operated by Colm Byrne.
He wrote a play that made it to off-Broadway and caught a New York Times review. He designed a product called RipShorts. He worked at Apple, then lived in Apple's car park in a Volkswagen because that seemed like the more interesting arrangement. He traveled the world for two years. He made a documentary called Hot Dogs New York about the people who feed a city at 3am. He ran guerrilla art projects in San Francisco.
He wrote Superpowered: How Divergent Minds Break Free and Win in the Age of AI because he'd lived the thesis.
Now he runs Flout Labs from Galway, where he builds tools like TabStax, AMP, and HookTunnel. Infrastructure for thinking. The through-line across all of it — the plays and the parking lots and the products — is the same question: what happens when you stop asking people to fit the system and start building the system around the person?
